Jessica Easter grew up in a Roman Catholic church in Chicago, and later attended a Quaker seminary in Indiana.
"I know that God has a sense of humor because I exist. I'm kind of like a superhero minority. Usually I go by the acronym, I made this up with a few friends in undergrad, 'QQWOC' – queer Quaker woman of color. I guess if you can sum up the complex identities within myself, you’d probably do that."
"Part of my studies with Christian spirituality is my desire and challenge to recognize the beauty in people different from you. I think that’s what Jesus stood for and I think that’s what Jesus is calling us to."
